Cold and flu season is still upon us. Your world doesn’t stop turning when you’re down with a cold, so here are a couple ways to keep your skin looking its best- even when you aren’t feeling your best.
1) Hydrate. In the colder months, it’s very important to stay hydrated by drinking water and also keeping your skin moisturized topically. Not only is the air cold and dry, but also the heat is usually pumping at home and at work, which can lead to dry, cracked skin. We recommend applying moisturizer right after the shower or bath, while skin is still damp and your pores are opened, in order to lock in moisture. Lay your moisturizer on thick before bed and keep a humidifier running while you sleep to give your skin that extra hydration it’s craving.
2) Exfoliate (but not too much). We recommend exfoliating once a week. When you exfoliate, you are ridding your skin of the dead skin cells so that your moisturizer is better able to do its job. Try using a gentle chemical exfoliant to keep the top layer of skin fresh and smooth, and then follow up with a moisturizer.
