Put Some Spring In Your Skin

Put Some Spring In Your Skin

Even if it isn’t sunny outside, we’re definitely ready to get some spring in our skin. Winter can be tough on your face, and with these three easy steps you can give yourself a healthy glow any time of year.

Get to Know Your Skin

Book a facial with a reputable esthetician in your area. They’ll be able to assess your skin type and make a recommendation for product tailored to your individual needs. If this isn’t something you usually do, keep in mind, this doesn’t have to be an extravagance, even if the massage feels like one.

If this is one of your first trips to a spa, we’d recommend a signature facial. At most locations, it’s a great beginner package that will include everything you need – skin analysis, exfoliation, extraction, massage and hydration.

Exfoliate

It’s important to find an exfoliant that both you and your skin love, as you’ll be using it one to three times a week. As we age, our natural skin cell turnover rate slows down which results in a build-up of dead skin cells, dirt and debris making exfoliation that much more important. It fights off dullness, uneven skin tone, dehydration and the aged appearance of skin.

To help speed up cell turnover, exfoliate with a manual scrub, an enzyme or a peeling agent. If your not sure what’s best for you, ask your esthetician in your consultation – you’ll want to be sure to use product designed for your specific skin type and condition.

Treat

A treatment serum can make a world of difference for the look and feel of your face. Apply as serum after cleansing, but before moisturizing. The molecules in the serum are smaller and better able to penetrate the skin to address conditions like uneven tone, fine lines or even acne. Take the Silk Therapeutics Intensive C Serum, for example. It’s designed to fight those conditions as well as stimulate collagen production for overall skin health.

It sounds simple and the good news is – it is! Glowing skin can be yours with these three simple steps.
