About to watch your daughter walk down the aisle? Congratulations! Here are our top tips for looking and feeling your best for all of those photographs, toasts, and memorable moments.
1. Do A Test Run
Don’t wait until the last minute to choose an outfit or a hairstyle for the wedding. Allowing yourself time to try different combinations ahead of time will help you feel more confident on the day of the wedding.
2. Prep Your Skin
Hoping to smooth wrinkles or erase dark spots before posing for all of those photographs? Plan ahead. Decide what you’d like to address, use our Skincare Assistant tool to decide what we recommend for you, and start primping at least eight weeks before the big day.
3. Make Your Makeup Last
Consider using a primer for foundation and eye makeup, especially if you’ll be in the sun. If you think you might cry, wear waterproof mascara. Here’s a great tip for making your lipstick last all day: apply one coat, blot with a tissue, apply a second coat, then finish with a dusting of translucent face powder to set.
4. When In Doubt, Hire A Pro
Hair and makeup artists are fixtures in the wedding industry, and many will travel to you to help you get ready. Getting a professional facial, manicure, or makeover is a fun way to embrace the occasion, and knowing that part of your prep is in the hands of a pro will leave you less time to worry and more time to celebrate.
5. Keep A Toolkit On Hand
If you have a small makeup bag or clutch, consider packing the following essentials: pressed powder and lipstick for retouching makeup, a trial-sized deodorant, a tiny comb or hairbrush, breath mints and, of course, tissues!
